West End Arts has announced another major event, a winter showcase for the performing arts. Following its successful "Scene and Be Seen" show earlier this year at the Pilney, the group is now inviting artists who live or work in the West End to submit entries for a show to be held January 17.

Two cousins recognized his voice and turned him in. Said Steichen, "I just wasn't thinking. I said, 'Ah, nobody's gonna hear me.'"

Steichen's earlier escape was a questionable judgment, also: He had served all but five months of a 10-year sentence.
