Not In Our Neighborhood

Landmark Center presents a play that explores a little-known instance of racist violence, in St. Paul’s Groveland Park neighborhood. African American attorney William Francis — later the U.S. Ambassador to Liberia — and his civil rights activist wife, Nellie, planned to move from the Rondo neighborhood to a home on Sargent Ave. Their plans were met with petitions, demonstrations, death threats, and eventually two separate cross burnings. Buy tickets online at landmarkcenter.ticketleap.com/historical-play-not-in-our-neighborhood or in the Landmark Center office, suite 404. $10. Info: 651-292-1239. Feb. 14-16, 7 p.m. in the F.K. Weyerhaeuser Auditorium.
