Whole Wide World – West 7th Public Library

by Leslie Spring, Library Manager

St. Paul Public Libraries are now fine free! We no longer charge overdue fines on items that are returned late, and we have forgiven all previous overdue fines. However, we still hold patrons responsible for returning items. If something is not returned, a bill is issued for the cost of the item. If you have any questions about how this affects your library account, do not hesitate to give us a call or stop by. In response to this change, I have already been asked about other ways to donate to the library. The Friends of Saint Paul Public Library welcome donations year-round, and those funds are used to support critical Library programs and services. To learn more visit thefriends.org or call 651-222-3242.

Join us at West 7th for Laughter Yoga on Wednesday, January 30 at 2 p.m. Invite more joy, play, and well-being into your life. Laughter Yoga does not include any physical asanas and can be practiced by anyone who is willing to be a little silly. Presented by Certified Laughter Yoga and Holistic Life Coach Katy Taylor.

The West 7th Book Club is meeting January 24 at 6:30 p.m. to discuss Evicted: Poverty and Profit in the American City by Matthew Desmond. Evicted is the winner of the 2017 Pulitzer Prize for General Nonfiction and tells the true stories of families struggling to pay their rent. Desmond lived alongside these families in Milwaukee and documented their day-to-day experiences as well as the policies that impacted them. Give us a call to reserve a copy.

West 7th and all Saint Paul Public Libraries will be closed January 1 & 21.
